Inverted Minarets
The Minarets reflect in Iceberg lake, Ansel Adams Wilderness area, July, 2009.
This was simply a capture of an opportunity that presented itself as my friend Chief Bwana and I were heading up from Iceberg lake to Cecile lake. Having more scenes to capture than time or memory cards would allow, I still could not refuse this one as it composed so nicely. No special post-processing was needed for this; the colors were really that good. There's a peculiar giddyness that happens when you're in such spectacular locales and you strive to capture the awe and wonder for your friends and your own fading memories. This is one I'll cherish a long time. I hope you can experience a little bit of this too. Comments always appreciated.
Below, Chief Bwana makes the somewhat dangerous ascent to Cecile lake. There's nothing between him and the lake, so a slip would mean a trip into the drink, camera gear and all.
