The silvery San Juan River slides slowly south towards the fold in Earth’s crust known as Raplee Ridge/ Monocline following sunset. The reddish rock in the lower left is Cedar Mesa Sandstone, which has eroded away on the slopes of the ridge, exposing the Honaker Trail formation of limestones and shales on the slopes and mesa top.

I will be out of internet access for most of this week (assuming the snow lets up tonight)- my apologies for not commenting/ faving your photos, but I look forward to catching up when I can e-connect with you again.
