Mountain layers: curtains
Sunlight streaming through the clouds creates crepuscular rays that cross with bands of light rain blown by the wind (l to r). This view is towards the east and the city of Boulder from Caribou Ridge at around 11,000 feet (3300 m) looking down to the Great Plains at around 5300 feet (1600 m). The large valley on the left side is the Boulder Creek drainage.
