White Lake near Oliver, BC
White Lake is a shallow playa lake in the Okanagan Valley of BC. It appears white when dry (which usually happens for part of each year), but is here a dirty brown. The surrounding area is mostly included in the White Lake Grasslands Protected Area. Many species of animals and plants rare in BC are found in the area, especially near the margin of the lake itself.
