Steens Mountain summit, OR

Steens Mountain is really a range rather than a single mountain-- a fault-block range with a gradual western slope and a precipitous eastern slope. A view looking south along the ridge from the East Rim Viewpoint. The summit (height 2967 m or 9733 feet)can be seen a little to the right of center, with several communication towers. The East Rim viewpoint itself, and the high point at left, are almost as high.
