Channeled scablands south of O'Sullivan Dam, WA

This unusual topography, with deep coulees, remnant ponds, cliffs, and isolated buttes was created by the "Missoula Floods" during the last glaciation, when colossal floods repeatedly swept much of eastern Washington.
