Buntzen Lake, BC

Buntzen Lake, located north of Port Moody, BC, is a natural lake whose level was raised by a dam to create a hydro-electric reservoir. The power plant began operating in 1903, one of the first such plants in the province.

A large recreation area is near the south end of the lake. Area, 182 hectares; mean depth, 30 m; maximum depth, 65 m.
