Cranberry Lake, Whidbey Island, WA
Cranberry Lake, a small lake in Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island, was originally a shallow marine bay which has been cut off from the sea by sand dunes. The lake is bordered by old-growth forest on the east and north and by a sphagnum bog and sand dunes on the west, making for very diverse habitats in the area.
Area, 52 ha; maximum depth, 7.6 metres.
