kabukicho is awesome!!!!

a giant mahaloz, cory-san!!!!!

i've always wanted to go to kabukicho.

the place is kinda the reason i bought my first camera. but everytime i mentioned the word to people from japan, they would give me the "are you nuts?!?!" face or worse. i guess the yakuza dudes have something to do with the reaction...

so i asked cory-san if it would be possible for him to escort me and my bro there....and i know my bro wasn't too thrilled about the idea cuz he used to live in japan...

anywayz... after navigating the freaky females, yakuza barkers, and nigerian big dudes, cory-san takes us to one of the coolest bars i've ever been to in my life. it's one of those establishments that you see when watching documentaries on japan. the place fit maybe 8 people if everyone inhaled...

it happened to be a place where photographers socialize and leave copies of their work...famous dudes and all. those books you see in the back are from some of the patrons...they're all f-f-f-film dudes. i know they looked at us like "who the heck are these dweebs?" i wanted to tell them that cory-san was part of clinton's press corp and a pulitzer nominee but he wouldn't let me.

snapped this pic as we where leaving to chase the last train. i don't understand japanese at all but i think they were laughing at my digital camera...

i wanna go back!!!!!!!

i've always dreamed about going to a japanese bar like this but thought it would never happen.

gonna sleep with a huge smile tonight.
