This gentleman, Dorjay, is from a remote village in the interiors of Zanskar Valley.

 

Probably over 60 years of age, His expert hands were a delight to watch while he worked away on his loom - yes - an actual hand & feet operated manual loom. When I met him he was apparently weaving a "thin"ish rug to lay down in his home.

 

Requested a few times, but he was reluctant to let me click him working on the loom itself, but managed to persuade him to let his photograph taken.
