The loss of the neighborhood's historic architectural heritage, which is among the best in the city, is an act of vandalism that goes unaddressed by the city government, and needs to be mitigated in the future for the sake of the residents of the neighborhood, and for the neighborhood's ability to effectively reinvigorate itself.
