Drinking Herself To Death
Every day with a Miller Lite, she sits outside Los Angeles City Councilman, Gil Cedillo’s office drinking her day away. From sunup to sundown drinking drinking every day. Her family has abandoned her with a twelve-pack of Miller to the corner of Figueroa and 56 where she sleeps, and shits, and drinks every day. Listening to her transistor radio, always with a beer in hand, drinking her day away. As Cedillo’s staff pass her by with proclamations in hand, she has become invisible, time to crack another can. Los Angeles civil servants Conrado Terrazas, Bill Cody, Sylvia Robledo, Alfonso Palacios, Hugo Ortiz, Jhonny Pineda, and Ricardo Flores come and go as if to say, it is perfectly acceptable to watch someone drinking their life away.
