A series of caricature portraits featuring musical stars of Cuban descent by Aristides Pumariega, known as Aristede, adorn the columns of the CubaOcho Art & Research Center, located at 1465 SW 8th Street.
Trio Matamoros is one of the most famous Cuban trova groups, depicted here by Aristede as "los tres Juanes" along with La Caridad del Cobre, Cuba's Patron Saint. "Los tres Juanes" are a boy and two brothers who first saw La Virgen when on a boat in a bay off of Cuba.
