Rockford, IL on East Belt

Milwaukee Road switch job working the remaining portion of the Chicago, Milwaukee & Gary Railroad (that the MILW absorbed in the 1930s) on what was called the East Belt around 15th Street and 18th Ave. The tracks are still here, the CN operates down here, but the Soo Line quit serving the last industries in the mid-90s. This view of MP15 495 and the rib-side caboose is from July of 1982. I was doing delveries for the machine shop I worked for at the time and always kept the Pentax K1000 with me.
