Ant Wars

It's a little known fact that ant colonies are, in fact, highly territorial and often war upon their neighbors. Here you can see two such colonies, one of red ants, the other of black. Both have cleared the area surrounding their nest site. This allows them to better see any approaching enemies and to give them a suitable battle ground.

 

If you look closely you'll see the war underway, complete with siege towers, catapults, and a battering ram.
