Recording in Paris during 1905.
The recording horn protrudes through the wall the piano and the player are raised several feet from the floor in order that the piano is in line with the recording horn. Ms Litvinne also stands on a platform. One can only guess how the pianist managed to get up to her seat – but the whole set up looks anything but safe.
There are numerous posters on the walls of the ‘studio’ including one for the tenor “Tamagno” and one featuring 'Nipper' of HMV fame.
