W2 took on the brief to design a set of icons for an iPhone finance application. 2008s must have gadget has more than just a personal media use. May people are finding the mobile internet allows them to stay in touch via email and access important files on the move. We took on the visual design brief from a development agency building the software to help businessmen and women on the move organise and log their finances. A tough brief but we completed it successfully and managed to hit or goals.
The problem and success of such a device is in the size and simplicity of the device. The icons needed to be instantly recognisable without the use of labeling and visually appeal to a world wide audience, without playing too much on a particular culture or currency.
The finance application required the icons to link through to various functions that the application supported. From adding information on phone billing to transport costs. Downloading information to your computer to entertainment expenses. Location specific expenses and stats.
