Bathing ghat of River Tunga at Sree Sharada Peetham, Sringeri

Sree Sharada Peetham, the first and foremost of the four Peethams established by the 8th century philosopher saint Sri Adi Shankara, the principal exponent of Advaita (non-dualism) is situated on the left bank of River Tunga at Sringeri. Sharadamba and Vidyashankara are the major temples in the peetham complex.
