Masani Amman Temple: Rajagopuram

This is situated at Anaimalai, about 25 km south-west of Pollachi in Coimbatore District of Tamil Nadu. The temple is nestled against the backdrop of Anaimalai Hills, part of the Western Ghats, the great mountain chain running along the west coast of peninsular India.

The temple is dedicated to Mother Goddess, shakthi or primordial energy. The interesting and wonderful aspect of the temple is that the deity is seen in a lying posture. Lying on the back the idol measures 15 ft from head to foot. The deity is depicted with four hands; two placed on the ground and two rose above.
