Kamakshi Temple, Jonnavada, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh

The temple dedicated to God Siva and Goddess Parvathy. It is located along the banks of River Pennar, 13 km from Nellore town and was built in 1450 A.D. Here Goddess is worshipped as Kamakshi and Siva as Mallikarjuna. However, the temple is known by the Goddess. It is said that Adi Sankaracharya has installed srichakram in the sanctum sanctorum of Kamakshi shrine.

Though the temple is very old it is very simple in architecture. No huge towers (gopuram), no huge walls.
