Wartime Glamour

Among my father's old slides, there were several of him and a woman at some lakeshore, labelled "Maggie, Montreal '42." I can only guess at their relationship, but I do know that she seemed to enjoy tossing back her beautiful auburn hair, in such a way that my father lost his capacity to focus the camera :-(

However dad managed to pull himself together enough to take this one shot. Even aside from its "glamour" aspect, it may be one of the coolest photos he ever took.

This particular slide tray seems to have been a memory lane kind of thing that my dad put together later in his life. The four slides following this one were pictures of his 1963 Buick. That may give you some idea what a geek he was. In any case, Maggie did not become my mother.
