Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano

This church is the cathedral of the diocese of Rome, where the pope comes to celebrate Mass on certain holidays. Built in A.D. 314 by Constantine, it has suffered the vicissitudes of Rome, forcing it to be rebuilt many times.

It is the oldest and ranks first among the four Papal Basilicas or major basilicas of Rome
