In 1916 the company Van Nelle bought a terrain along the river Schie in the then municipality of Overschie. Here was between 1927 and 1930 led by Cees van der Leeuw factory built by J.A. Brinkman and L.C. van der Vlugt. The Van Nelle factory today provides shelter to a wide range of companies in the field of media and design.
