~ Winters Blanket ~

The country roads and thoroughfares,

are white with fallen snow,

and silver flakes on hills beyond,

reflect a starlit glow.

The pine trees stand so tall and proud,

like shepards in the night.

Surrounding homes and cottages,

Adorned with twinkling lights.

Pure and white the blanket is,

that wraps the town below

Peaceful is the evening that is,

dressed in Christmas snow.
