Paris - Rain - Sharing an Umbrella

Paris in the summer

is a dream.

The trees,

heavy with leaves,

shimmer in rare bouts

of sunlight

that pours

over the city streets

like white gold.

Even the rain

and omnipresent clouds

that blanket the bleached sky

shimmers against

Paris's candy-colored architecture,

as the days linger long,

like trailing words spilling slowly

off the phrases of lovers.
