New lake formed by landslide in Hunza Valley, Pakistan

Pictures show various auspects of life in the Hunza Valley, Nagar Valley and Gilgit; at the upstream and downstream of the Hunza River. Karakonomy (Karakoram Economy) at the downstream of the dammed river Hunza at Ata-abad where boats are shuttling to supply commodities and passengers. The dam was formed by a massive landslide in January 2010 that obliterated the village of Ata-abad and killed 19 riverside residents, stretches back some 20km to the village of Husseini.
