November Town 2
Another look at November and her washed out, dullness. There is a kind of mood in the month though, if one surrenders to it, that becomes the urge to poetry and reflection. November is a pause before the stone cracking discipline and icy purging of Winter, a kind of pause for remembering, recounting, reconsidering the year that's now winding down.
As oppressive as it might seem, November has its gifts, despite it's spartan colouring and dimness of light. But that requires an effort of sorts, however gentle, a will to go within. Whereas Summer floods itself all over us, November steps back and bids us to come to her for her secrets.
