Puneri Ganesh Utsav-3

This photo here symbolizes a grand indian festival called ganesh utsav. It was started by Bal Gagadhar tilak, a freedom fighter to bring the people of indepndent india together and stand as united.

 

These pictures were shot in the place of Pune, the capital of ganpati celebration in india.

Though the festival is still celebrated with great pomp and show, now it has lost is sheen of being a unifier of masses and has become more of a political propaganda opportunity for various parties.

 

I wish i could cover the whole event, but had to leave outstation , hence could cover only the preparations

 

enjoy.
