Skeksis (Not Really)

I've been pulling music off of old CDs I've not touched in ages. These are mostly rare items that I didn't want to sell ages ago as I knew that they'd be hard to find on the internet.

I ran into a couple of songs that I had forgotten I liked. One in particular had one of those moments that just hits the right spot for me. It's maybe 8 seconds of the song but it is as though those 8 seconds are tuned to whatever frequency my dopamine receptors operate at.

So I spent longer than I'm willing to admit just moving the little time marker back to the beginning.

"This time I'll pay attention enough and it'll stay."

*sounds, dopamine injection*

"Dammit, I was too busy waiting for it to happen and thinking about it happening while it was happening to really be in the moment for the happening. Let's try that again."

*sounds, dopamine injection*

So I'm pushing the button over and over and the pellet drops but it's not fully satisfying while at the same time utterly lovely. The brain is a strange strange thing indeed.
