The Church of San Nicolás is a Roman Catholic parish church in Valencian Gothic style. In the middle of El Carmen, in the historic center of Valencia, this church has some frescoes and after restoration some paintings were discovered. The church was founded in the 13th century. It became a parish in 1242 and it was one of the first twelve Christian parishes in Valencia. The church represents the perfect combination of the Gothic style with the Baroque decoration. The interior of the church was completed between 1690-1693 and was decorated in Baroque style by Juan Pérez Castiel. In 1981 it was declared a National Historic Art Monument and it was not until the 21st century that its architectural and pictorial restoration began. Inside the church we can see frescoes, depicting the life of Saint Nicholas of Bari and Saint Peter Martyr, designed by Antonio Palomino. The main altar is another masterpiece of this church, which contains some images of the two saints.

De kerk van San Nicolás de Bari en San Pedro Mártir is één van de architectonische schatten van Valencia. Bekend als de Valenciaanse Sixtijnse Kapel, mis de kans niet om deze te bezoeken. Het is een rooms-katholieke parochiekerk in Valenciaanse gotische stijl. In het midden van El Carmen, in het historische centrum van Valencia, heeft deze kerk enkele fresco's en na restauratie werden enkele schilderijen ontdekt. De kerk werd gesticht in de 13e eeuw.
