Dr John Sarno
Part of my trip to NY was a kind of pilgrimage to see Dr John Sarno. I discovered his book 'Healing Back Pain' in 1998 and have been dedicated to his diagnosis and treatment programme ever since. It's been a long road but I can conclusively say it works. His discoveries have been somewhat revolutionary and are not generally recognised or accepted by a medical profession driven by revenue, especially in the US. I suggest though, if you suffer with pain, especially back, neck and leg, you take a look at his book. As a buddhist of 19 or so years, his diagnosis fits perfectly with my philosophy of the oneness of mind and body.
Thanks Dr Sarno, for everything. As with many crucial and revolutionary ideas, you may be recognised only after you've gone.
