Caption:
Pictured is T/5 Max E. Follmer, who served with the US Army Signal Corps, during World War II. Inducted May 4, 1943 (was living in Gettysburg, PA at time), he served with Company B, 3188th Signal Service Battalion as a cryptographic technician (also spent some time with the 69th Infantry Division).
During his time in the military, Follmer played tenor saxophone with a band called The Signalaires. They performed on board the USS Argentina and were later reassembled to perform at various clubs/events during time in France.
