LA Zoo 2014 Elephant

Every year I take drawing students to the LA Zoo, and we focus on gesture drawing. We arrived early to see the "elephant training"...here is Jewel (a retired circus elephant) getting carrot treats after being brushed and groomed. Three elephants, Billy, Tina and Jewel live in the recently built 3.8 acre "Elephants of Asia" habitat.
