Glory morning in Abruzzo
Abruzzo is considered as the Greenest Region in Europe: one third of its territory, the largest in Europe, is protected by national parks and nature reserves.
This region is the kingdom of silence and solitude: medieval fortresses and villages stand alone on plateaus surrounded by severe mountains. For this reason the biggest mountain plateau of Abruzzo, Campo Imperatore, depicted in this image, is known as the "Little Tibet" of Italy.
