The Autrique House, Victor Horta's first building of note, is of major importance in the architectural heritage of Brussels.
The Maison Autrique is the very first striking building Victor Horta designed. It was built in 1893 and is as such a major part of Brussels' architectural heritage. The house marks an essential stage in the development of the greatest of Belgian architects and provides a better understanding of the birth of Art Nouveau.
The scenography designed by Schuiten and Peeters makes this residence - as it once was - an outstanding house, simultaneously a tribute to the private architecture of Brussels and a gateway to an imaginary world.
Location: Chaussée de Haecht 266, 1030 Schaerbeek, Brussels, Belgium
