Catherine [Stranger #7]

This picture is #6 in the 100 Strangers Project - Round 3

Meet Catherine

I was in Virginia for a corporate head-shot - this was in a building with a large shared office space - with many office spaces as well as docking areas for consultants As I was going about setting up for the shoot I met Catherine sitting by a large table busy with her work. Honestly it was difficult to miss this beautiful lady -especially the red hair with grey-green eyes just seemed like a superb combination for a pic. But I focused on the session on hand which went quite well. As I was packing up I decided to ask Catherine if she would be open to being photographed since I didn't want to disturb her at work - thankfully she agreed if it wouldn't be more than few minutes. We chatted a little before we went ahead and clicked a few pictures. Catherine turned out to be a extremely friendly person, happy and with absolutely lovely kind eyes (unsurprisingly she gets a lot of compliments).

Catherine works as a software consultant - she originally hails from Connecticut. She got married recently to her sweetheart for many years - I even got to see a few pictures from her wedding - looking absolutely radiant (must add that I think her photographer was fabulous). She loves painting/sketching - in fact she is extremely talented and use her art to creates unique gifts (she did one for her mom for her wedding) Her favorite memory - was really her time in college. What is one of her favorite quality of herself - she likes to meet and connect with people which seemed so obvious during our interaction.

One of my goals in Round 3 of my 100 Strangers Project is to attempt and try something new to the extent I can. Since it was raining, I want to use the window light and the raindrops to create a quiet moody image. In post processing I enhanced the oranges and greens. Not the best in terms of execution I had but you can only learn by trying and Catherine was patience personified.

Thanks a lot Catherine for taking the time and being a part of this project. It was great making your acquaintance and I wish you the very best for your future, especially in this new phase of your life.. If you would like a copy of the pictures please drop me a note.
