Before I conclude my L'Anse visit I figured I'd include this bonus shot. Most of the tonnage inbound to L'Anse these days consists of used railroad ties. CN uses a wide variety of cars to move this cargo, often gondolas, open top hoppers and others, however this was a first for me, a side dump car loaded with used ties. Seems like overkill and not much capacity compared to the other cars. It does keep these trains interesting. September 13, 2022.
