I was hoping to catch the WGN running back to Hayward Jct. and arrived just as they were finishing at the mill, not bad after driving 4+ hours. What I didn't count on were the tank cars for storage they'd couple onto the front of the train 30 seconds after my arrival. To get these cars to Spring Brook they'd flag the crossings and run the 6006 "midtrain". Not exactly what I'd hoped for and something to beware of if you plan to shoot the Hayward job. On this day the shove move to Hayward would have been the move to catch. November 12, 2014.
