Time Flies

Earlier in the spring, in spite of my City's attempt to locate and destroy all of the resident Canada Geese eggs, the hatching took place. Everyone knew that many nests had gone unlocated; the point was to greatly reduce the number of hatched goslings. SAD!

It was soon clear - by seeing the families on the lake and the river, that, though the numbers were smaller, there were still an abundance of goslings.

Now it is just a few months later. Those goslings have grown to almost adult size, and have almost finished getting adult coloring. This is one example of a spring hatching survivor, now nearly an adult.
