Mojave Green Rattlesnake - Crotalus scutulatus

Thank goodness it was so threat. But hey Tom and I weren't a threat to it.

Leaving Kelso Dunes, Tom spotted the snake crossing the road. So we both hurried out. It laid still for a few good minutes. Then it went it's a slowly, flickering that tongue of its. On the prowl something. We slowly went closer to the snake at the sametime being cautious ans watching our surrounding. A few minutes before this encounter we spotted a possible Racer shoot up to the trees. Tom and I struggled to take good shot of the snake. Not sure whether to post it. Anyhoo this rattler was gorgeous!!
