New style signal plates
I'd like to know who is responsible for these abominations. This one is at Euston Square, and I keep seeing more and more of these crop up all over the place. The full stop/punctuation mark is absolutely pointless with the type being condensed.
Farringdon is an absolute hash with a mixture of old-style Johnston type that is set to the space on the plate quite nicely and thus pleasant to the eye, alongside the newer plates that are just impossible to read. Don't even get me started on the mish-mash with the home signals (and those recent errors in the Traffic Circular – shocking). If I ever get a chance to photograph R2250, you'll know what I mean (which doesn't even stick to whatever standard is being followed, but it should be getting removed soon anyway to stop my eyesight from being fouled, thank Darwin).
Anyway, rant over.
