illuminated Uxbridge
An A stock blind box with a bit of history (and in absolutely mint condition). 5090 was one unit of the last Chesham shuttle train.
Decided I wanted it to be running off the mains electricity as opposed to batteries so the whole thing had to be re-wired. Stripped the original wiring as it was designed to run off the train supply which is a completely different voltage to what you get at home. New strip light fitting and fixture was installed (which was sat in place in the lighting tube brackets, held by cable ties, using the originally drilled holes in the back of the box) and mains cable ran through the top of the box where the original train wiring was. Just needs to be modded now to include a switch on the cable.
