3.1 + Fanta
Seriously have to work on my riding posture as it's not doing my back any favours!
Just some quick pics before the day's polo lesson (at the request of Charlie), as he was somewhat thrilled by the fact that not only did I turn up looking rather formal (with polo whites), I'd turned up wearing the club sponsor's colours. He sent them on to IG Index saying that I should be a mascot or something, ha. For any of the girls out there who are after the polo shirt: It's the beautiful George polo shirt from Joules (who do lots of lovely ones for the ladies that you can wear on and off the field).
So glad I forced myself to get up at 9AM to get down to the club for 11AM, when the sun decided to shine! Felt I under-performed a bit in today's lesson, but I guess we all have learning curves. I still had fun, and that's what's important. I always feel happy when I am at Ham. :)
I was riding on Fanta today, my third polo pony for the season. Fanta has been the most difficult of the three polo ponies I've ridden. She is a wanderer and it is very hard to engage her into doing something – you have to be consistently tough with her, otherwise she steers to the left and literally just goes off and does her own thing. A lot more bounce in her trot than Princess or Gata, so I was being thrown around despite my best efforts to rise to it. The only advantage she has over Princess and Gata is the fact she will chase the ball if it comes into play in front of her.
