Didn't get much sleep last night. Mike and I both had an early night. He had to get up early today as he's off to Essex to pick up an old air raid siren – which he is going to restore and run (which won't do anything for my nerves, or the many residents around here who were around during the air raids). He seems to be going through this phase of working through manly projects to occupy his spare time (besides his new-found love of playing golf).

Today will be my first day back at work following my near-miss. I will be with an Instructor Operator for two days this week, with an instruction from my manager that I will be on the train to just get visually re-acquainted with the road and routine, so no handle-turning this week. Next week however, under supervision, I will be back in the saddle and getting my confidence back again, with the intention of hopefully being back out there on my own the week after next. So fingers crossed, no dramas.
