Gummy Bear 365 : Day 324 - June 19th, 2008

Day 324:

Finally!

After being here for one month and one day, I can say that I have a job.

I sent in my resume to a company that at Invesco Field (home of the Denver Broncos).

It was for a Data Entry position and that’s part of what I did at Fieldwork Los Angeles for little over a year now. It’s been the type of work that I have been interested in doing. Just about every job I applied to has come up with no response. Then last Friday I got a reply from someone saying they were interviewing today at 5pm and Invesco Field. Oh man... that means it’s going to be me and other people. I went, got a new outfit and took the light rail to Invesco, which was interesting. Especially if you are not familiar with city

all that much. Thankfully I did research and have a great sense of direction. I overcompensated on time and got there an hour and quarter early. Not good as it was super hot, but good because it means I get to be interviewed first. Which didn’t happen.

When myself and the other 18 or so people that were there to be interviewed, many from what I heard didn’t have the data entry background that I have, Thankfully. I was about the 8th person to be interviewed by one of the three interviewers. I didn’t mind the wait, but was a littler nervous waiting. Okay the truth is, I was nervous ALL day long. I talked

to Bob (my interviewer) and I had a great feeling from the start of our conversation, knowing I probably looked as nervous as I felt. However it was my resume and my drive that shined through.

They have six positions available for data entry, but he told me and actually was almost

asking me to come work for him, which in the end he said if they/ I didn’t want me that

he would take me to do one of two different positions that he has on his crew. So I have

three jobs available to me. It’s which one do I prefer to take. I like data entry, but it’s only

part time and primarily only on weeks when football games held there. I want something

a bit more consistent, so I’m hoping for one of the other two jobs.

I’m happy to have a job and tomorrow or Saturday, I will know which of them I will have.

Such a burden lifted off my shoulders and I don’t have to worry anymore and get down

on myself. I can be all smiles again and can just be the happy Kealoha that I know I am.

Thank You all for the words of encouragement and being there for me during all this.

I really do appreciate everything.

Now let’s have fun with the remaining days of this years project shall we? :D

PS: Sheri ordered me a box of Sugar-Free Jelly Belly Gummy Bears, the kind that

we suspected as the kind that certain Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory stores carry.

I got the box this morning and... they WERE the same exact gummies! We knew it all

along and today it was confirmed. So for those of you who love the multi-colored gummies that I use. That’s where to find them. The remaining days will now be full of

colorful gummy goodness. :)
