Kalij Pheasant feeding - Volcanoes National Park, Hawaii

This is a bird mostly found in the Himalayan regions and introduced to Hawaii. We saw it close to sunset as it crossed the path ahead of us. A guide who was with a tour group just behind us was mentioning how the pheasant had got injured in the leg and was now recovering. We were lucky to spot one in the wild, as you can see it is nicely camouflaged in the grass.
