The Musician at Coconut Lagoon

Pen & ink, and watercolour wash.

The box-like instrument that you see in my picture is a hand pumped, free reed keyboard instrument which has been very popular in India since the French brought it here in the mid-19th century. The two small drums are called tablas and are percussion instruments. The instrument that the musician is playing is a bamboo keyless 8-hole flute, which is popular in South India.
