Log Cabin

This is a Finnish style log cabin. Unlike most log cabins there is no mortar between the logs. They are very carefully fitted together to keep out drafts. The absence of mortar which can hold moisture and create rot, means that this style of cabin may last for centuries! There is a large Finnish population in the Ely area of Minnesota.
