Succedaneum_16
More experimentation with the beeswax/encaustic process . . .inkjet print on old, mould-infused paper which survived a flooding. I sized the paper twice using gelatin, cut it to fit a small, vintage wooden frame, itself rather distressed.
I then taped it in the center of a 6x6 piece of thick watercolor paper, to insure snag-proofed passage through my shabby printer. Subsequently, the print was soaked in water for a night, mishandled horribly, and finally coated in wax, ironed, coated again, repeatedly -- until it cried out for mercy.
Original is 3x3 inches.
