Hopi rattlesnake
A beautiful "Hopi" rattlesnake found crossing a road in Southeastern Utah on memorial day weekend. These snakes are a midget form of the prairie rattlesnake. They used to be classified as a separate subspecies but many experts have lumped them back into Crotalus viridis.
These snakes get their name from the Hopi Indians of Arizona who are known to have used them in snake dances.
